Here is an itinerary and why you should day trip from Paris to Rouen and Giverny, France

Itinerary & How to take the Metro and Train
Walk from Rue Montorgueil to Rue Reaumur (Sentier Station) take the Metro M3 (toward Levallois) to St. Lazare Station. Exit Saint Lazare after the Harvre-Caumartin stop (5 stops, 6-10 min). At St. Lazare Station: the 7:46 am train to Giverny arrive at 9:04am. We used the
app.
The Monet house opens at 9:30. The train stops in Vernon the town right next to Giverny. It is a very small train station and has a mini train ride outside (there is a fee, but it was minimal, I don't remember the exact amount) that you can hop on and will take you right to Monet Garden area. We spent about 3 hours here touring the beautiful gardens, Monet’s house, and looking through the gift shop.
Tip: Know which direction and the end of the line for the Metro to make sure you are going the correct way. Also, I like to know how many stops, and what exit is right before my destination so that I don’t miss my stop.

Train from Giverny @12:05 to Rouen
Once we arrived in Rouen, we decided to walk to the place where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in 1431. This area is right outside the St. Joan of Arc Church in Pl. du Vieux Marche. The church is in the center of the market square. It was quite a walk but worth it as we were able to see more of the Town of Rouen on foot.

We had lunch at a pizza place, wouldn’t recommend and I did not get the name. After walking around the square, we found the restaurant that inspired Julia Child to become a chef, La Couronne. If we had more time we would have eaten there.
After lunch we walked underneath Le Gros-Horloge, a monument of a 14th century astronomical clock located over the street. From here we walked down the street where there are plenty of shops and restaurant to enjoy.

Now onto the Cathedral Notre-Dame de Rouen a stunning Catholic church which has three towers, each in a unique style. It took over 800 years to build this church!
One of the highlights for us was when we stumbled upon a café called the “Social Perk”. The café was decorated similar to the Friends television show Central Perk. We had to stop in and have a coffee of course!
Now it was time to head back to the train station, Gare de Rouen or Rouen Rive Droite Station. The train was leaving at 4:00pm to St. Lazare Station arriving at 6:50 pm (Train Nomad).
